Historic Fishtown is located in Leland, Michigan and it is a magical place. In summer, it is packed with both locals and tourists alike. In winter, it is another thing altogether. The waterfront is quiet except for the roar of the water spillage, wind in the trees, and ice chunks hitting metal hulls. Leland is an active fishing village with a protected marina. Leland is a destination for artistic inspiration. This area has as deep Native American, iron smelting, logging, shipping, farming, and fishing history. There is a great local museum. The sights and sounds will excite your senses, any time of the year.
